| First, I want to thank Emmaus Road for giving me the opportunity to travel with them as they spread the Word of God through song. I also want to thank God for opening this ministry to me, so that I can continue my goals to do more for the Lord. I was born on October 16, 1988 in San Bernardino, California to my parents Arthur and Jackie Skiffen. My mother was a native of California and my father was stationed in California while he was in the United States Navy before they were married. They were married two years before I was finally born, which was actually a surprise to them. After moving to Georgia my first time, I began to attend church with my grandparents, however I was never really focused on God, being as young as I was. I left Georgia in 1994 and moved to Sunman, Indiana where I lived for two years. After moving back to Georgia, I went through some very difficult times in my later childhood and early teenage years. Unfortunately these difficult times turned me to horrible things, and without the Lord by my side, I did not have much to guide me in a different direction. Finally, in 2005, I began to attend my home church of Calhoun Community, which is in association with the Church of God. It was there that I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I realized that God kept His hand over me through all the things that I went through, because He wanted to use me for His work. God put great people in my life to help me walk the right path, including Emmaus Road member Scott Marshall, who was my youth Pastor at the time. I have realized the Lord has called me into preaching, and He is training me by allowing me to be with a wonderful group of guys in Emmaus Road. I thank God everyday for saving me, and I am ready to continue His work. God gave me a testimony for a reason, and I will share it to the world to show that our God is an Awesome God! God Bless, William Conrad Skiffen |
